Most skincare ingredients just get all the credit, accolades, praises, and media attention! Most of us are familiar with Vitamin C, retinoids, hyaluronic acid, and other AHA's (alpha-hydroxy acids). Niacinamide is actually Vitamin B3 which has been around for a while and may even be in some of your holy grail skincare products like it's in many of ours.

So why is the beauty industry loving this quiet, powerhouse of an ingredient?

- Curbs oil & shine, Niacinamide helps regulate sebum (natural oil) production and keeps skin looking matte and shine-free.

- Increases hydration by strengthening the skin's barrier, a strong barrier helps the skin retain and hold moisture.

- Improves skin texture and reduces enlarged pores, by curbing sebum, Niacinamide helps reduce skin texture and minimizes the appearance of enlarged pores, wrinkles, and fine lines. The more protected and nurtured your skin's barrier, the smoother your skin will appear.

- Fades pigmentation, Niacinamide has been clinically demonstrated to effectively treat hyperpigmentation and slow down the speed of pigment creation.

Another great fact about Niacinamide is that it plays nicely with other ingredients including Vitamin C, just be sure to let your 'acidic' products dry down before applying products with Niacinamide.

At Arvelon, we use Niacinamide in effective percentages to perk-up your complexion so that your skin looks radiant, glowy, and beautiful. Now that you know the myriad attributes of this 'all-rounder', which product will you be adding to your skincare regime?
