6 Skincare Tips to try this Fall Season

Just when you thought you had perfected your skincare game, in come the wafting winds of the fall. Your gel-based moisturizers had your skin humming with hydration in summers but you can't possibly put fall into the same bracket. Fall skincare is a whole different beast. One that has to be held by the ears to tame.

As we meticulously tuck away our summer wardrobe in a box, from our flip flops to our tank tops and make space for our fur jackets and hoodies, our skincare regime needs to make a similar shift. Put your gel-based skincare products away till next summers and roll up your sleeves to face the fall season headfirst.

Here are a few tips to help you make the right skincare regime switch:

Moisturize the dryness away

Use a heavyweight moisturizer to balance your skin's hydration levels. During the fall weather, your skin is most likely to take a big hit. From the cold weather drying your face to the constant itching and flakiness caused by low skin hydration levels. Finding a good moisturizer can be taxing! The key? Find an all-day moisturizer that won't buckle under the pressure of lower temperatures. Use a heavyweight moisturizer if you already have dry skin, use a gel-based moisturizer if your skin type is oily. Keep reusing your moisturizer throughout the day if you feel it drying up.

Don't forget the SPF

You might think SPF is the skin shield for the summers but little do you know that the winter sun can be just as damaging if not more. Just because your tanning days are over doesn't mean you should toss the sunscreen away for the winters. Sunscreen should be a part of your daily routine.

Use a cleanser that doesn't strip your skin off

Cleansing dust particles from the windy, fall season is extremely important. Use a double-duty, gentle cleanser to clean, hydrate and restore your skin's complexion. It is usually in the fall/winter that our skin loses its glow, this is usually because we don't give enough importance to clearing impurities before putting on a moisturizer. Clogged pores can make the skin seem dull.

Hydrate

You may not be sweating the same way you do in summers but that doesn't mean your body doesn't need hydration in winters, thirst levels are relatively low in winters but it's still extremely important to drink enough water and restore moisture in your skin cells to counter overall dryness.

Make best friends with Sleep

During the fall an average person spends more time sleeping than going out, embrace this blessing of the season and you already must have heard about the magical results of good sleep on the skin.

Take care of your hand and feet

Though our hands and feet don't seem to bother us that much in the summers. This can completely change in the winters. Feet are often ignored in skincare but after you've had a long day in your boots, your feet deserve some care. Include a hand and feet cream in your regime and get rid of calluses, blisters, and dry skin.

Taking care of your skin and shifting your products during changing weather can be tough, but if you maintain a good skincare routine all year round, you will be set for whatever the seasons throw at you. Healthy skin isn't achieved by a spot-treatment mindset, but by investing in your skin 24/7!
